Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026 · Last updated October 1, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Crazy Poet Music Group LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information on Sessions & Sounds at sessionsandsounds.com (the "Site"). It covers artists who search and send inquiries, studio owners who claim listings, people who submit or report listings, and people named in listing information.
2. Information we collect
Listing information from other sources. Most listings were created from publicly available business information, obtained from a third-party provider of Google Business listing data: business name, street address, phone number, website and social media links. For some listings this includes an email address, which we use to deliver inquiries and verify claims and never publish. We send addresses to the U.S. Census Bureau's geocoding service to place studios on a map for distance search.
From artists who send inquiries. Name or project name, email address, links to your music, the service you need, number of songs, timeline, budget range, how you found the listing and your message. We record whether your email address has been confirmed.
From studio owners. Your email address, the listing you claim, your role and any evidence you provide for manual review, and a record of how your claim was verified. Verification codes are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. We record the version and date of the Terms you accepted. Everything you add to your profile is Owner Content, described in our Terms of Service.
From people who submit or report listings. The details you enter and your email address.
Collected automatically. IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, referring page and time of access, recorded by our hosting provider. We never store your IP address as received. We keep a scrambled (hashed) form of it to limit repeated submissions. On pages with a form, our bot protection, Cloudflare Turnstile, receives your IP address and processes browser and device signals to tell people from automated traffic.
Location. A place or ZIP code you type into search is matched against public Census data on our own servers and is not sent to a third party. We do not use your device's location.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Publish and maintain the directory
- Deliver inquiries to studios and confirm artists' email addresses
- Verify, review and notify studios about claims
- Review listing submissions and reports
- Send sign-in links and messages about your account, claim, submission or inquiry
- Prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and secure the Site
- Enforce our Terms and comply with legal obligations
We do not use information on the Site for advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.
4. What is public
Listing information and Owner Content are public, including photos, audio, credits, rates and descriptions. Public pages are indexed by search engines, and removing something from the Site does not immediately remove it from search results or other sites' copies.
We never publish email addresses. When a claim is verified, we notify the studio's email on file with a partly hidden version of the claimant's address.
An artist's inquiry is shared only with the studio it was sent to.
5. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as follows.
With studios. Your inquiry and contact details go to the studio you chose. If that studio has no inquiry email, our team receives your inquiry and may contact the studio through its public contact details on your behalf.
Service providers, who process information on our behalf and only to operate the Site:
| Provider | What it does |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and sign-in system |
| Vercel | Website hosting and server logs |
| Cloudflare | Domain name service, bot protection and file storage for photos and audio |
| Resend | Email delivery |
| MXroute | Hosting for our business mailboxes |
| U.S. Census Bureau | Converting studio addresses to map coordinates |
Our sign-in system is shared with Amplyr, a separate product we operate. Your account's email address and sign-in records are held in that system. Your listing, claims, profile and inquiries are stored in a separate Sessions & Sounds database, not in Amplyr.
Legal requirements, protection of rights and business transfers. We may disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or the public, or in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
6. Copyright notices and counter-notices
If we receive a notice of claimed copyright infringement about material on your profile, we forward that notice to you, including the contact information the complainant provided. If you submit a counter-notice, we forward it to the complainant, including the name, address and telephone number the counter-notice is required by law to contain. Submitting a counter-notice also requires consent to the jurisdiction of a federal court. These disclosures are required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and cannot be made anonymously.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, and as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our Terms. In particular:
- Listings: kept until removed. A removed listing's Google identifier is kept on a suppression list so it is not recreated.
- Owner Content: removed from the Site when the owner deletes it, releases the claim or closes the account.
- Rate-limiting records: the hashed IP addresses used to limit repeated inquiries are deleted after 24 hours.
- Copyright notice records: notices, counter-notices and any resulting removal or restoration, kept with the account concerned for as long as needed to enforce our repeat infringer policy and resolve related disputes. Keeping them is a condition of the safe harbor protections we rely on under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls, hashing of verification codes and IP addresses, and secure infrastructure providers. Sign-in uses single-use email links rather than passwords. No system is completely secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent.
Anyone may ask us to remove a listing at remove@sessionsandsounds.com, with no proof of identity required. For other requests, write to privacy@crazypoet.com. We respond within the time the law requires.
10. Additional U.S. state privacy rights
If a U.S. state privacy law applies to us, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of its sale, sharing or use for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for those purposes, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
11. Cookies
The Site uses one type of cookie: a sign-in cookie, set only when you sign in to claim, submit or edit a listing. Public pages set no cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it before they are used.
Pages with a form load Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection, which operates under Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
12. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them and will delete it if we learn we have. Contact privacy@crazypoet.com if you believe a child has submitted information.
13. Location of processing
Crazy Poet Music Group LLC is based in the United States, and the Site is operated from and intended for users in the United States. Personal information is stored and processed in the United States. The Site is not directed to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
14. Changes to this policy
We will revise the Last Updated date when this policy changes, and give additional notice to owners by email for material changes.
